The
Foundation has initially created six distinct types of funds.
Each fund has within its purpose, a particular aspect of Davis Health
System. The Foundation Board may create additional funds as it
determines necessary. The original funds with corresponding
descriptions are as follows:
General Fund Donations
to this fund can be made at any time and in any amount. Donations
received through annual giving campaigns and special events will be
placed in the General Fund. Unless otherwise specified in the
appeal, donations to the General Fund may be used to support any
purpose consistent with the mission of the Foundation. No more
than 50% of the donations to this fund in a calendar year may be used
to fund the operating costs of the Foundation. However, General
Funds may be used to help support one or more of the other field of
Interest funds.
Health and Wellness Fund This
fund is designed to promote health and wellness initiatives within the
service area of DHS. These initiatives may be sponsored wholly by
DHS or in collaboration with other organizations. Examples of
activities or events supported through this fund may include but are
not limited to flu vaccine clinics, health fairs, and sports physicals.
Capital Projects Fund The
focus of this fund is essentially on land, facilities, and
equipment. Included within that scope are facility replacement,
renovation, new construction, and acquisition. The purchase of
certain types of equipment used for the diagnosis and treatment of
disease may also be supported by this fund.
Public Relations and Promotional Fund This
fund can be used to designate financial support for signage, seasonal
décor, landscaping, etc. It may also support “image building”
initiatives, promotional and marketing campaigns throughout Davis
Health System.
Technology Fund Within
this fund are projects that use the latest technology in the areas of
information services such as electronic medical records, (EMR).
Initiatives in the areas of telemedicine, robotics, virtual
surgery, etc. may also be funded through the Technology Fund.
Memorial Fund This
fund has been established to enable donors to honor and recognize
individuals of their choice. Those honored or recognized do not
have to have a prior association with Davis Health System. The
Memorial Fund will be used for scholarships to help further the skills
and education of those working within Davis Health System and those
residing within our service area. Of special emphasis are those
skills, degrees, licenses and/or certifications that are in high demand
to meet the health and wellness needs of residents within the service
area.
Note:
Within any of the general fields of interest remains the opportunity
for a donor(s) to create a “named” fund. There are specific
requirement in order to create a “named” fund. There are specific
requirements in order to create a named fund. These are contained
in the fund description. The initial donation must be of a
certain amount to initiate the fund. Also within a specified
period of time, the fund must reach a certain level to be
